Overview

The next several sections cover, in detail, the layout and management of memory and filesystems on your Z, including how to configure your directory structure to take advantage of additional memory such as an SD card.

You definitely want to understand this, and set up your directory structure appropriately, before you start to install software, which is why we're covering it now.

As a prerequisite, we're assuming that you're familiar with at least the basics of filesystems, mount points and the /etc/fstab file. If not, you'd better go brush up on that now.
